Newspaper Online Shopping Report

A new report, written by Local Onliner blogger and Kelsey Group Associate Peter Krasilovsky, called “The Newspaper Online Shopping Report: Online Relationships with Retailers,” is out today, and provides a view at how newspapers are working to enhance their relationships with local retailers.

Among the recommendations for newspapers, Krasilovsky suggests installing state-of-the-art technology, such as click-to-call, video and online coupons, that increases interaction between retailers and consumers.

We've discussed in the past how newpapers are implementing these technologies to enhance communications between buyers and sellers, and remain competitive against other local media offerings, especially major internet players such as Craigslist and Google.

In the near future, we hope to post an interview with an analyst from Classified Intelligence to get some more perspective on what newspapers are doing to stay on the cutting edge.  Stay tuned.
